Environmental Impact Assessment
Centrica Storage and Perenco UK are committed to improving the compatibility of operations with the natural and human environment.
The project team working on Baird will take all relevant onshore and offshore environmental factors into consideration as an integral part of the design and operation of the proposed facility.
We have commissioned an independent Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of both the proposed development onshore at Bacton and offshore. The resulting Environmental Statements will be submitted, to North Norfolk District Council and the Department for Energy and Climate Change, in support of our applications for development consent. As a first stage of this environmental assessment process we have prepared “Scoping Reports” which outline the environmental issues which are being addressed by the project.

We welcome communication from residents and stakeholders on the environmental issues which the project should take account of. We will seek to foster constructive working relationships with environmental organisations, community leaders and local and national government agencies.
